Fashion-One percent

This week, I'm loving! My one percent change is all about fashion!
See I'm 27, and I normally dress like I'm 12. No really, jeans and a solid colored tee shirt! I've just now started wearing things besides black and white! I'm goal, to be a good lookin momma (sing it like tom petty!). If your not married it's hard to understand but, I want my hubby to look at me and think "man my wife is hot"!

I might want to be hot but, I don't have a hotness budget! I mean really who does! So off to goodwill my friend Abbi and I went! This is what I learned.

Stay hydrated! I'm serious, I left with a horrible headache and so thirsty!

Be ready to spend 3 hrs, at least! You have to dig for the good stuff!

Be open minded. Crazy pattern, too big and billowy? BELT IT!

Try EVERYTHING on. We loaded up the buggy and went to town.

Don't be scared to say no! Have to hem? Think you'll actually hem? Just saying!

Take a friend, but not babies! The hubbies watched the boys, and I was so much fun for all of us! The boys got to play and we girls got some much needed QT!

Wanna know what I scored?

This tee! So cute, so fits perfectly, so amazing!

This billowy top! I love it, think black skinny jeans, heels, hello date night!

This summery dress! Does this really need describing!

Now sit down for this ladies... I spent about 7 dollars on all of it. Yes, 7 (breath). We were super blessed when we went, because if you signed up for the goodwill rewards card you got 50% off all the clothes! BTW: The rewards card gives you a point for every dollar and at 250 points you get 25% off your purchase. Yes it might take a while to get to 250 but if you do what me and Abbi did, we both have the same card and when we hit 250, we'll go together!

Homemade- one percent

This weeks one percent change is honestly something I've been trying to get the guts up to do for a while now. Chris and I have been talking a lot about our diet (it seems like a lot of us are these days!). It started when I started hurting. See my mom has fibromyalgia, and I over the past two years have been showing signs of it also. After a lot of research I've found a lot of people have been able to help with pain by eating better and exercise (specifically yoga).

That started a re-inviting of what we eat. After looking into vegan (yes I have no idea what I was thinking with that!) vegetarian, and clean eating, we chose clean eating. Clean eating is basically where you don't eat anything processed. Yes it sounds totally daunting, and if honestly really felt that way at first but, its getting better! I'm not totally crazy about it. I'm not going to make sure everything we eat out is "clean" (that's not going to happen anyways!) and I haven't taken away Holden's ego (really do you think I'm going to get up that early and make waffles...) But I have taken the first of the big steps towards clean eating...

Homemade Bread!
I deiced last night that I was just going to go ahead and make it! Just buckle down and do it! I went through our pantry and found everything I need but, yeast. I went with it and made a no yeast bread.

It's super yummy!!! Not quite the big fluffy loaf I was hoping for but it was a great breakfast bread. Kind off a cross between a biscuit and a bread, but more bread if that makes any sense.

3 cups whole wheat flour (preferably stone ground)
4 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
1 1/2 cups rice milk or 1 1/2 cups water (works with any liquid)
1/4 cup liquid fat (i.e. melted milk free margarine, vegetable oil, olive oil)

Mix dry ingredients.
Mix liquids and add to dry.
Stir until there is no more dry flour.
Depending on the humidity of the air where you live you may need a little bit more or less liquid. The dough should be moist but not sticky.
It may take a few minutes for the flour to fully absorb the liquid, so don't rush to add liquid or flour to it. Score lightly the surface in a diamond or X shape to prevent splitting of the crust.
It is important not to overwork the dough.
Shape into a ball or an oval, with oiled hands.
Place on clean baking sheet.
Bake for 40 minutes at 400F.

Variations:
Rub the dough ball with virgin olive oil and sprinkle sea salt and oregano for a foccacia flavor.
For tea time add a tsp pure cane sugar.
The liquid can be replaced for orange or other fruit juice if the bread is to be used for teatime and you can even add dried chopped fruits.
For a savory bread the liquid can be tomato juice and you can add chopped sundried tomatoes to the dough.
Sprinkling of seeds in the dough or on top of the bread is also possible.

Chris and I had pieces last night and he loved it! This morning Holden had some for breakfast, I think he was a fan!

Water

I'm in love with these Bobble water bottles... No really LOVE them. (i have the blue one.)
I love anything that I can change or coordinate, and these you totally can! See the whole little filter and top you change out when its time to change the filter. So I can have the blue one this time and then in two months (that's when they recommend a change) I can have a pink one!!!

I know its seems like I'm a total sucker for marketing, but I'm happy with my bottle!
Why am I writing about water bottles you might ask...
Go ahead I'll wait...

I'm jumping in on the Naptime Diaries 1% change day.
Every week Jessi changes something small to make her life and her families life better and healthier, which she encourages others to do the same and link up!

I finally found what my first 1% change is
Drinking more water.

I HATE water. It was the hardest thing for me when I was pregnant. I didn't want to drink the recommended amount, I would gag GAG, it down. After a while it did get easier but as soon as I could I cut that water mess out of my diet...

I know not the best of ideas, thus the 1% change adding it back in, thus the water bottle excitement.Bold
See I am really bad at knowing sizes or amounts of things. I've said a wall was ten feet long and it was four.. really bad. But, now knowing how much water the bottle can hold I know how much I need to drink in a day & gives me a goal.

This weeks 1% change is going to be me drinking a full water bottle full of water a day.
Everyone has to start somewhere.....
Oh did I mention I have the big bottle, the one litter one......
pray for me people!
