Be a Key

Sometimes I sit down to write, and words just don't seem like enough. This is one of those cases. There are people being sold, stolen, raped, and used as slaves all over this world. It is not just over seas in far off countries, but it is here. It is in the United States. Sadly most of the US citizens that are victims, both adults and children, are found in sex trafficking. Yes children too. Street prostitution, massage parlors, brothels, and strip clubs are just some of the places where human trafficking victims are found.

So what to do?


The A21 campaign started in 2007 to make a difference. A21 stands for abolishing injustice in the 21st century. This is what they are planning and we need your help!

October 18th is anti-slavery day, and many voices across the globe will join together for one cause: abolishing human trafficking in our lifetime. KEY2FREE is our commitment to join this fight by combining awareness, justice, and action into one symbol of freedom: the Key.

1. Wear the Key: On October 18, wear a key to symbolize freedom.

Together, we can use our keys to unlock the voices, stories, and dreams of the 27 million people held captive.

So what are going to do? First I'm asking you to join me in getting behind this cause. I know we have already done our Just Cause, but this is so much more than just picking a cause a month. You, blogger dear, you have a voice.
